Key Dates for students, their employers, and training firms on the proposed amalgamation of Chartered Accountants Ireland and CPA Ireland.
August 2024
22 to 30 August - CPA Ireland Foundation, Professional and Strategic Level examinations. This will be the final sitting for Foundation and Professional examinations.
September 2024
1 September - The Amalgamation is dependent on a number of key steps, including approval by the members of CPA Ireland of the Amalgamation itself, and approval by members of Chartered Accountants Ireland of certain changes to its bye-laws that are necessary to implement the Amalgamation. At present, the Amalgamation is expected to take effect on 1 September 2024.
16 September - CAP1 and CAP2 Programme enrollment deadline
20 September - CAP1 Induction
25 September - CAP1 Course Commencement
30 September - FAE Programme enrollment deadline
October 2024
4 October - CAP2 Induction
8 October - CAP2 Course Commencement
11 October - CPA Ireland August 2024 examination results issued. Students awaiting exam results in October will then be able to register for CAP1/ CAP2 courses
11 October - FAE Induction
23 October - FAE Course Commencement
December 2024
1 December - It is our hope that you will choose to continue your studies with the amalgamated institute (i.e., Chartered Accountants Ireland). If you decide to follow this pathway, you will need to register with Chartered Accountants Ireland within 3 months of the Amalgamation taking effect. Based on the Amalgamation date above you would need to registrer with Chartered Accountants Ireland by
