Digital Practising Certificates to issue
CPA Ireland will shortly issue digital practising certificates to practitioners who have renewed, replacing their current certificates which expire on the 31st March 2024. The certificates can be added to LinkedIn profiles, shared via email or social media, or downloaded and embedded to email signatures or professional websites.

Kildare based pastor convicted of company law and theft and fraud offences
A Kildare-based pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) (City of David), with an address in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, has been convicted of 9 company law offences (namely, providing false information), as well as 73 counts of theft, and 5 counts of deception.

ISQM annual evaluation requirement
Systems of quality management in compliance with ISQM (Ireland) were required to be designed and implemented by all audit firms by December 15, 2022, and the evaluation of the system of quality management required by paragraphs 53–54 of the standard is required to be performed within one year.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney TD, and Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman TD, have brought the right to request remote working arrangements for all employees and the right to request flexible working arrangements for parents and carers into operation.

Revenue has updated the Tax and Duty Manual which provides guidance on the enhanced reporting requirements (ERR) for employers. The manual now provides guidance on an optional administrative practice regarding advance payments of travel and subsistence.

Revised Solicitors Accounts Regulations 2023
Practitioners are reminded that revised Solicitors Accounts Regulations came into effect from 1st July 2023. The Solicitors Accounts Regulations 2014 continue to apply in relation to the filing of the reporting accountants report where the accounting period has commenced before 1 July 2023.
