CPA Sponsored Research

 

CPA Ireland encourages and supports research to develop and enhance the profession of accounting and the advancement of knowledge for all stakeholders and issues calls for research every two years.

Following the 2020 call for research, two projects were funded, based on alignment with CPA Ireland’s Strategic Objectives. This project entitled Preparing Auditors for Professional Practice, tested the extent to which Professional Scepticism levels change following completion of an auditing module.

The research team included  Dr. Margaret Healy UCC, Dr. Brid Murphy DCU , Dr. Claire O’Sullivan-Rochford MTU Cork & Professor Ray Donnelly UCC.

Dr. Brid Murphy and Dr. Claire O’Sullivan Rochford are pictured at the BAFA Auditing Special Interest Group 32nd ( 1st Hybrid) Audit and Assurance Conference, Aston Business School, Aston University in Birmingham, where the project was well received by attendees.
