Last month the Institute issued an important email to all students outlining the proposed amalgamation of CPA Ireland and Chartered Accountants Ireland. That message emphasised the importance of ensuring that Training Records are up to date for all students.
As previously advised, the deadline for submission of Training Records for 2023 has been extended to Friday 16 February ensure that all students have the opportunity to bring their Training Records up to date (to the end of 2023).
Thanks to all students who have submitted their records to date – we are reviewing these in the order they are received, and you will receive a confirmation email when your records have been reviewed and approved by the Institute. You should expect your Training Records to be approved within two weeks of receipt by the Institute.
For all students whose records are not up to date, you are required to register your mentor (if not already on the system) and submit your outstanding Training Records. If the proposed amalgamation goes ahead only records that have been submitted and accepted on our system can be transferred across. You will not be able to retrospectively add records.
All trainees are required to submit Training Records, there are no exceptions as this is a vital element of your progression to becoming a fully qualified accountant. It is each trainee’s responsibility to log their training, review it with their mentor and ensure that the mentor approves and submits the training to the Institute. Please remind your mentor to close each quarter after they have approved your Training Records, as we will only be notified after each quarter is closed.
We have many online resources available on the Training and Admission to Membership pages of the CPA Ireland website to assist students in recording training:
