Amalgamation Information for All Students

Read more to find out what you must do by 30 November in order to become a student of the amalgamated institute.

The amalgamation with Chartered Accountants Ireland came into effect on 1 September 2024 and we are happy to report that many of our students have now registered for their ongoing studies with the amalgamated Institute.

In August 2024 all students were notified that their data would be transferred to Chartered Accountants Ireland and were given the opportunity to "opt out" of the amalgamation and where a student opted out their data was not transferred.

As you did not opt out your data has now been migrated to the Chartered Accountants Ireland student database.  You should have received an email directly from Chartered Accountants Ireland requesting you to activate your account, view your exemptions and apply for your courses for 2024/2025.

All CPA students, regardless of exam status must activate their Chartered Accountants Ireland student account. This applies to students who are exam complete or who are intending to complete their studies on the Strategic Level as well as those continuing the CAP1, CAP2 or FAE examinations. On 5 November, you will receive a further email from Chartered Accountants Ireland requiring you to confirm (by 30 November 2024) :

  • That you wish to continue as a student of the amalgamated Institute (Chartered Accountants Ireland).
  • That you accept the terms and conditions of being a student of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
  • That you have viewed and accepted the exemptions offered. Please note, exam passes achieved on the CPA Ireland strategic level will not be reflected on your Chartered Accountants Ireland student profile.

It is very important that all students comply with this requirement in order to transition to Chartered Accountants Ireland within the terms of the amalgamation
