Information for Employers

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection have introduced a range of measures to provide income support to people affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Schemes
The Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS) replaced the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme (TWSS) from 1 September 2020. It is expected to continue until 30 June 2021. The EWSS provides a flat-rate subsidy to qualifying employers based on the numbers of eligible employees on the employer’s payroll.
If you are self-employed, you can apply for the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment.
