CCAB-I Joint statement to the profession following  on-going developments in Ukraine
Members will be aware of recent developments in Ukraine and the ongoing imposition of further financial and trade sanctions on Russian Government officials and other named individuals and entities, by countries around the world, including the UK, US and the EU.

Sanctions imposed by EU/Ireland on Russia and whistleblower tool
Restrictive measures have been introduced on foot of the developing situation in Ukraine and Russia. These measures include targeted restrictive measures on a number of individuals and entities and financial restrictions primarily against the Russian Federation.

Updated CCAB-I AML Guidance
CCAB-I has revised and updated its anti-money laundering guidance for accountants (“Guidance”) and the update has recently been released to members. The update is the result of some months of work by a working party made up of a cross section of individuals including from the professional bodies, practice and industry.

CPD for Statutory Auditors
Statutory Auditors are reminded that with effect from 1st January 2022 they are required to document the planning, evaluation and completion of their CPD activities.

Expiry of Practising Certificates
Practising certificate holders are reminded that the deadline to renew practising certificates for 2022/23 has now passed. All CPA practising and auditing certificates expire on the 31st March.

IAASA publishes reports on the quality assurance review of firms that audit PIEs
IAASA has published its 2021 quality assurance review report in respect of seven firms that perform statutory audits of public-interest entities in Ireland.

The Charities Regulator has developed a proposed charity classification standard with the intention of facilitating a discussion on introducing a standard that will be both workable and meaningful.
