Mutual Recognition Agreement between CPA Ireland and the International Qualifications Appraisals Board in the USA (IQAB)

On the 31st May 2022, a mutual recognition agreement between CPA Ireland and the International Qualifications Appraisals Board in the USA (IQAB).  IQAB represents the interests of both the American Institute of CPAs and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy in the USA (NASBA). The MRA is in effect until 31st December 2024 at which point the agreement will be reviewed.

This MRA confirms that  the “US CPA credential and the Irish CPA credential are substantially equivalent.” This recognition agreement is a strong endorsement of the CPA Ireland qualification and provides further global opportunities for Irish CPAs.

The MRA offers both bodies the opportunity for key strategic partnerships and provides a route for qualified members of each body to become a member of the other body, and to enjoy the benefits which each organisation offers.
